Originally intended as a feature length movie, the ‘Inhumans’ has been refocused as a TV series and we finally have our first look at what to expect!

The trailer quickly lays out the premise of the series: A growing unrest has befallen the Inhumans race as a faction led by the King’s brother, Maximus (Iwan Rheon), demands that they reclaim their home, which happens to be Earth. A military coup against the Royal family has the King, Black Bolt (Anson Mount), and his queen Medusa (Serinda Swan) along with other loyal followers escape with their lives to our planet ending up in Hawaii (which, if you are going to flee, is one of the best destinations to flee to). Here they struggle to survive as well as defend Earth against the oncoming galactic attack.

The series may have a hard sell among those not familiar with the comic series, but Marvel has done quite well with characters not as popular as Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Captain America. After all, when ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ first debuted, it was also not as well known. Now they have become a household name. But is ‘Inhumans’ enough for people to spend money to see the first two episodes in IMAX?

Marvel is banking on the gimmick.

Add to the fact that the trailer does seem to ooze a soap opera ‘Game of Thrones’ feel with all its royal intrigue and familial discord… and, of course, the appearance of Lockjaw, Black Bolt’s super-powered canine companion who has the ability to teleport.

Check out the trailer below and let us know in the comments if you’ll be watching the two-hour premiere in IMAX theaters and when it resumes on ABC:
