The wave of the “girl power” vibe has been hitting a high point as of late. Yes, the wave has always been present, for the record, but recent pop-culture showings like the ‘Wonder Woman’ film and the most recent two female-led ‘Star Wars films have highlighted the fact that girls can, quite frankly, kick just as much ass as boys.
To this end, Disney is doubling down on it’s female empowerment with an upcoming series of short videos, all focused on the most well-known heroines in their universe. The ladies featured are from all across the Star Wars timeline: from “original trilogy” Leia to the more modern films’ Rey and Jyn, plus animated favorites Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, and more.
The videos will premiere on Disney’s YouTube channel starting next week, before also being available on the Disney Channel as well. Here’s the “official” description, with the trailer video below!
