It is still unclear what ‘Luke Cage‘ will be up to after his upcoming stint with ‘The Defenders’ but we have learned that actor Theo Rossi (‘Sons of Anarchy’) will be reprising his role as Shades in the second season. As production is already slated to begin next month, it should be no surprise that some details are coming out and while it is likely that Misty Knight, Bobby, and obviously Claire will probably be returning, we aren’t sure which of his villains might return or what new ones may pop up.
Rossi was recently interviewed in Parade where he revealed that at the very least, he’d be returning:
“Luke Cage is going down, [we’re in] season two. We’re pretty excited, it’ll be nice to get back into the swing.”
How big of a role Shades will play in the second season is debatable, but it will likely have him partnering with Mariah Dillard as she is returning as well and rising to power as Harlem’s criminal mastermind. If they follow the formula of the first season at all, these two might just be the villains in the first half before switching to someone who has powers more suitable for going up against an overly strong and bulletproof Cage.
It’d be fun to see Danny Rand show up in a Heroes for Hire nod or, with Dillard’s eye on being a criminal rising, perhaps she might have a meeting with a certain Kingpin.
