As ‘Wonder Woman’ soars closer to its June release date, more plot details are emerging, albeit slowly.  The latest nugget comes from actor Ewen Bremner (pictured above on the far right).  The actor is presently promoting his film ‘T2 Transpotting’ but when asked about ‘Wonder Woman’, as is the norm with these sorts of films, he hesitantly declared “I can’t say very much.”

He was able to reveal a bit however that hints at not just his character, but a potential plot thread from the film.

“I play a character who’s enlisted by Wonder Woman to help save the world as part of a small, unlikely band.  He’s a shellshocked soldier who’s been discharged from the war and is brought back to help on a secret mission.”

This “small, unlikely band” was first spied in last year’s ‘Batman V Superman’ in a faded black and white photo unearthed by Batman/Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) which teased at Wonder Woman’s longevity/immortality.  Also shown in the photo are Saïd Taghmaoui whose role is also unknown at this point, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and an unknown cast member, who appears to be a Native American, so it is most likely Eugene Brave Rock, whose character is named Chief.

Of course, Wonder Woman gathering a ragtag team to help her reflects the use of The Howling Commandos in ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ but hopefully enough will be done to differentiate this group from the former.

Nearly everything is being kept under wraps regarding ‘Wonder Woman’, directed by Patty Jenkins.  We do know the film takes place mostly in 1918, during the thick of World War I.  It was previously hinted that in the film, Diana defies her mother, Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) by stealing a sword known as the God Slayer (presumably the same weapon she was seeking in ‘BvS’).  The villains will be played by Danny Huston and Elena Anaya, , who are believed to be playing Ares the god of war (although his human form may be a disguise) and Doctor Poison, respectively.

More details as they arrive… or as the cast’s lips continue to loosen.

‘Wonder Woman’ directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya, and Lucy Davis will be released on June 23, 2017.
