Part of this clip has been seen in the previously released trailers for NBC’s new DC Comics-based sitcom ‘Powerless’ which features Danny Pudi’s character Teddy showing off an inflatable suit that protects its wearer from damage caused by superhero/villain battles. This extended cut of the clip, reveals a peak inside the larger DC Universe and a classic rivalry.
Although Lex Luthor is Superman’s arch enemy when it comes to, say sending out a scientifically crafted monster to tear up downtown Metropolis, in the boardroom, it’s Bruce Wayne that is more likely to give Luthor a run for his money. And it seems that on ‘Powerless’ the Wayne/Luthor rivalry plays a part of the story.
Watch the clip below:
‘Powerless’ stars Vanessa Hudgens as Emily Locke, the upbeat new director of research and development for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises, run by Bruce Wayne’s cousin Van, played by Alan Tudyk. In addition to Pudi, joining Hudgens as employees are Ron Funches, Christina Kirk and Jennie Pierson.
In a world where humanity must cope with the collateral damage of Super Heroes and Super-Villains, Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) begins her first day as Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises that specializes in products that make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer. Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her expectations far exceed those of her new boss (Alan Tudyk) and officemates, so it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and the realization that you don’t need superpowers to be a hero.
What do you think about this show drawing in even more references to the big names of the DC Universe?
There are just a few more days to wait until the premier of NBC’s ‘Powerless’ on February 2, 2017 at 8:30pm EST.
