With the sequel series for ‘Twin Peaks‘ getting closer to dropping on Showtime we’ve just learned that this David Lynch cult classic will also have all of the original episodes ready to be watched! Showtime on Demand and Showtime Anytime will begin airing all of the original episodes on December 26th, a perfect Christmas present for everyone from the network!

If you had missed the original series it was out 25 years ago and the revival is jumping in that far from where things were left off on the show. Created by Lynch and Mark Frost, the series follows Kyle Maclachlan as Special Agent Dale Cooper who is in town for an FBI investigation into the murder of Sheryl Lee’s Laura Palmer who was the town’s homecoming queen. What started off as a murder case quickly turned strange as we learn more about the town and its inhabitants.

The original series starred Ray Wise, Alicia Witt, Warren Frost, Dana Ashbrook, Sherilyn Fenn, and David Duchovny who are all set to return as well as a slew of new faces on the new season which include James Belushi, Chrysta Bell, Robert Knepper, Michael Cera, Eddie Vedder, Amanda Seyfried, Tom Sizemore, Balthazar Getty, Naomi Watts, Laura Dern, and many more!

With the original series kicking off in December it shouldn’t be surprising to see the new season shortly after. While not officially announced as of yet, we’re expecting an early 2017 release.
