With ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming‘ in production, we know spoilers are going to leak out but we may have just learned that there will be another villain past The Vulture and Shocker when Parker swings into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in his first solo outing. With all of these villains, Happy Hogan, Iron Man, and who knows what other characters pop up it is kind of hard to call this one a solo outing at this point.
It almost sounds like they want to prove ‘Spider-Man 3’ and ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ wrong and that three enemies can work.
This is your last chance to head back before spoilers!
It looks like the new villain, will actually just be an antagonist to Peter Parker and not a supervillain. That’s right folks, Marvel Studios isn’t pushing their luck and will instead give us someone that ends up as an antagonist to Parker and will be played by Michael Keaton or Marshall Green. One of the two are playing The Vulture and the other is this mystery antagonist. Honestly, rumors have long had Keaton playing The Vulture so it wouldn’t surprise me to see Green in the other role.
Now, this new person is someone who Peter has to deal with in everyday life. As it is an older character this clearly isn’t an introduction to Flash Johnson. It could be a teacher, someone Aunt May is dating, or possibly even a certain newspaper editor.
Also, it was revealed that there would be a character central to the Spider-Man mythos making a surprise appearance though who won’t have a major part in the film. My guess would either be Norman Osborne or J. Jonah Jameson who are both important to Peter at this time in his life. However, with both being so used in the existing films it would almost seem to be difficult to use them.
Who do you think the mystery character will be that is bothering Parker? What major player do you think will be included in the film that is central to the Spider-Man mythos? Share your thoughts below True Believers!
