Remember last spring when the rumors were flowing that ‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ was going to have a spin-off starring Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood for the fall season, and then that hope was dashed when they renewed ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ and ‘Agent Carter’ but dropped the spin-off idea? Well it turns out the new show was not entirely dropped, as ABC has officially ordered a pilot for the new show, which will be titled ‘Marvel’s Most Wanted’ (not a great title in my mind, but who knows). No one is sure how/if the pilot will be aired, whether as a backdoor pilot episode of Season 3 of ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.,’ or if it will get a full series pick-up as what happened with ‘The Flash‘ over on the CW. All we know is that ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ is going to be losing two of the characters that helped re-invigorate the show in Season 2, and no one is quite sure what the future for either show will be at this point.

Producing the show are the same folks who were supposed to be behind the rumored spin-off earlier this year, namely Jeffrey Belle (‘S.H.I.E.LD.’ Executive Producer), Paul Zbyszewski (‘Lost’) and of course, Marvel TV President Jeff Loeb, who will also be one of the executive producers. The show will undoubtedly be welcomed on the network alongside its siblings ‘Agents of SHIELD’ and ‘Agent Carter,’ though the show’s producers are quick to point out that ‘Marvel’s Most Wanted’ is NOT a spin-off, which does not make all that much sense since the characters are coming straight from ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Whether that means it is some kind of prequel show or taking place at a different point in time for the characters is not certain..

What are your thoughts on ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ losing Bobby and Hunter as they start their own show? Are they over-saturating the network with Marvel shows? Share your opinions below!
