Whats better than one new ‘Mad Max‘ announcement? Two! We’ve just learned not only that a double feature of ‘Mad Max: Fury Road‘ and ‘Mad Max: Fury Road Black & Chrome Edition’ is coming out and has a release date but that a ‘Mad Max: High-Octane Collection‘ is also coming to Blu-Ray. These two sets are going to be the pinnacle of any Mad Max fan’s home collection and will catch you up through every iteration of the film currently released.
Of course, this thrill will be partially short lived as ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ was set to kick off a new trilogy so we may have another two films coming out relatively soon.
First up we’ve learned that the Mad Max High Octane Collection is coming out and this will contain all four films which have been released so far. In it you’ll have the original trilogy of ‘Mad Max’, ‘The Road Warrior’, ‘Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome’, and ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’. Not only that but this mega collection also includes the new ‘Black and Chrome’ cut of ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ that fans have been dying to see since it was first announced. This edition also includes ‘Road War’ which has George Miller, Terry Hayes, and Mel Gibson telling how the entire film came to be. Also included is a previously released ‘Mad Max’ documentary titles ‘Madness of Max’ which is a feature-length on the making of the film which includes interviews with George Miller, Byron Kennedy, Mel Gibson, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Steve Bisley, Roger Ward, Joanne Samuel, David Eggby, Jon Dowding, and many more! No pricing is available on this version at this time.
Already own the original trilogy? No worries as they are also releasing a ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Two Film Collection which will include just the theatrical release as well as the ‘Black And Chrome Edition’. This also includes the above new introduction to ‘Mad Max Fury Road: Black and Chrome Edition’ by George Miller. Clearly, this is the must have version if you already have the original trilogy or have seen Gibson as Max enough in your life but if not it seems like the perfect time to pick it up! This version will run $29.98 on release. Both editions are currently scheduled for a December 6th, 2016 release from Warner Brothers Home Entertainment.
Both of these editions will include “George Miller Introduction to the Mad Max Fury Road: Black and Chrome Edition” which shares how this concept came about.
