There’s a lot of excitement about ‘Supergirl’ Season 2, but also a lot of scrutiny.  The show is moving from CBS where it didn’t perform up to expectations to The CW, a seemingly more suitable home for it, but also a move that requires certain changes, particularly in budget.

One of the big changes necessitated by a smaller budget was moving ‘Supergirl”s shooting location from LA to Vancouver, which as many fans worried might mean the departure of the razor-tongued Cat Grant, played by Calista Flockhart, who has an established family life in LA, where she is married to Harrison Ford and has kids in school.  Sadly, the rumors are true.  Well, kinda.  In a new batch of photos just released, Flockhart is back as Cat and it has been confirmed that she will not only be in the first two new episodes, when the show returns, but will remain as a recurring cast member as her schedule allows.  (EP Greg Berlanti confirmed she would appear in at least six episodes.)

Perhaps some of her edge will be partially replaced by the introduction of Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor.  McGrath also appears in these new pictures and she looks every part the vixen… if not outright villain!  (She is Lex Luthor’s sister after all.)

And perhaps the show’s biggest new addition is Tyler Hoechlin as Kara’s cousin Superman/Clark Kent.  Hoechlin appears in numerous photos in this new set under both identities, which offer a hint as to what to expect from his depiction, which has been described as more “classic” and closer to Christopher Reeve’s take on the iconic role than Henry Cavill’s.

The show might be partially losing Flockhart, but as these photos reveal, most of the cast is back in full force.  Obviously, Melissa Benoist plays Supergirl/Kara Danvers and we also see that Chyler Leigh is back as her sister Alex, David Harewood as Hank Henshaw/J’Onn J’Onzz, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen and Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott.
