Things got pretty heated when fans got a load of ‘Batman: The Killing Joke’, to the point that a debate broke out at SDCC between angry fans the creators, with comic writer Brian Azzarello going so far as to call one of these fans a “pussy.”

Let’s hope this next release goes a bit better.  Going in the exact opposite direction in tone, ‘Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders’ is an animated tribute to the lighthearted 1960s ‘Batman’ TV show, with stars Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar reprising their roles as Batman, Robin and Catwoman.  The movie teams Catwoman with The Joker, The Penguin and The Riddler as they seek to get the ultimate revenge on Batman and Robin.

Speaking of things getting heated, Warner Brothers has released a new clip to promote the film’s release, which captures the spirit of the infamous death traps in which the Dynamic Duo found themselves ensnared each week.

Check it out below:

Like ‘The Killing Joke’, ‘Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders’ will have a one night-only theatrical release, so if you want to check this fun movie out on the big screen, grab your tickets now.

After decades of Batman being strictly grim & gritty, fans are finally embracing the campy spirit of the TV show, which was reviled by many for decades.  The TV show was released on DVD, the first time it has ever been available on any video format, DC has been publishing ‘Batman ’66’ based on the show and Mattel even crafted toys.

It’s back to the 1960s as Batman and Robin spring into action when Gotham City is threatened by a quartet of Batman’s most fiendish foes – Penguin, The Joker, Riddler, and Catwoman. The four Super-Villains have combined their wicked talents to hatch a plot so nefarious that the Dynamic Duo will need to go to outer space (and back) to foil their arch enemies and restore order in Gotham City. It’s a truly fantastic adventure that will pit good against evil, good against good, evil against evil … and feature two words that exponentially raise the stakes for both sides: Replicator Ray. Holy Multiplication Tables!

Holy technology folks, you can view ‘Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders’ on Digital HD on October 11th, 2016 or own it on Blu-Ray November 1st, 2016! It will also be on the big screen on October 10th, 2016!
