Once upon a time Guillermo Del Toro had a dream to direct ‘Justice League Dark’ and since that time the movie has evolved into ‘Dark Universe‘ and Warner Brothers and DC have just announced that Doug Liman (‘The Bourne Identity’,’Edge of Tomorrow‘) will be directing the film! While a lot of the excitement for the film started to plummet when del Toro was no longer attached to direct, Hollywood heavyweight Liman seems like a perfect candidate to get the ball rolling again. He has produced and directed quite a few genre films at this point and should be able to really bring some quality craft to the table.

e still don’t know who will make the lineup for ‘Dark Universe’ but we do know that the comics have featured John Constantine, Deadman, Shade the Changing Man, Zatanna, and Swamp Thing previously. In fact, at one point this looked very much to be the lineup that del Toro wanted if you just added in The Spectre as well.

While Del Toro is still on board to produce, Liman’s inclusion hints that ‘Dark Universe’ will be more action packed than dark.

Are you happy to hear that ‘Dark Universe’ is finally moving forward? Do you feel that Liman is the right choice to helm the movie? Share your thoughts below!
