Two months ago, it was revealed that Guillermo Del Toro was working on his own superhero team movie featuring some of DC’s most magical and supernatural heroes together in one film. Once known as ‘Heaven Sent’, the project is now known by the working title ‘Dark Universe’ and will include characters such as Swamp Thing, Deadman, The Spectre, Constantine, and Zatanna.

In a new interview with IGN, the writer/director revealed that he is currently working on the film with a writer that people will be “very happy with”, although there’s only an outline and it hasn’t been green lit yet. Check out the video below to see Del Toro’s excitement about the project and his thoughts on a more cohesive cinematic universe for DC Entertainment:

I’m very curious to find out who this writer is. This project definitely sounds interesting and a bit like Justice League Dark (as pictured above), and there are quite a few writers out there who could handle the material. Neil Gaiman maybe? Or Scott Snyder, the man who brought Swamp Thing into the New 52 DC Universe? Del Toro gives us no clues whatsoever, so who do you think this mysterious writer could be? And how do you feel about ‘Dark Universe’? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
