Hello and welcome back yet again for an all new Toy News Tuesday! We’re the one weekly column right here on ScienceFiction.com where we seek out all of the awesome news you need to know about any announcements and cool happenings in the toy industry and put them all in one easy to find place for you! We’re still only just over a week past the largest pop culture event of the year, San Diego Comic-Con! If you’re reading this, clearly you’ve survived the con and recovered enough to get caught up on all of the important news you may have missed! Hasbro’s Legends Are A Marvel
For awhile, the future for this line was looking grim, but now it’s safe to say that after a few years moving in the right direction with Hasbro, and the Marvel Legends line has never shone brighter! This year at San Diego Comic-Con, Hasbro showed off numerous new waves of never before seen Marvel Legends figures and gave collectors something to really drool over! We’re getting at least three new waves of 6″ scale Marvel Legends figures, as well as several smaller 3.75″ figures, new 12″ figures, and even figures based on the Marvel Netflix series! ‘Star Wars’ Is Back In Black
While Hasbro’s Marvel Legends line seems to have dominated much of their showcase, they also had several new reveals planned for what is still one of the biggest toy lines of all time four decades later, Star Wars! Hasbro revealed several new figures in their popular ‘Star Wars: The Black Series’ 6″ scale line, as well as new figures based on the hit ‘Star Wars: Rebels’ animated series 3.75″ toyline! To top it all off we have a new ‘Black series’ life-sized prop replica heading our way that is sure to knock your socks off! Here’s the full rundown…

See These SDCC DC Collectibles (Say That Three Times Fast!)
Our good friends at DC Collectibles went all out this year at San Diego Comic-con and premiered some fantastic looking new figures in some of their already popular lines, as well as at least one completely new line that has some collectors very excited!
For their ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ lines we can look forward to classic versions of Poison Ivy and Mr. Freeze (no images yet, though, unfortunately), as well as ‘New Batman Adventures’ versions of Catwoman and The Riddler! Plus if you’re a fan of the original ‘Batman: TAS’, then you have an amazing new Batman ‘Expressions’ figure pack to look for that will include the earlier version of the Dark Knight himself with an assortment of new accessories and no less than a half-dozen alternative heads featuring a variety of differing facial expressions! It also comes with a sweet open-winged cape that lets you mimic the cover art to the ‘Mask Of The Phantasm’ VHS tape, so it’s a pretty big win! Also premiering at SDCC was the first figures in the new ‘Superman: The Animated Series’ line, which will begin with a two-pack of Superman and Lois Lane.

For their DC films line, DC Collectibles is giving us new figures of Batman, ‘Knightmare’ Batman, and Aquaman from this summer’s ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice’, as well as new figures of Boomerang, Katana, and Killer Croc from their upcoming ‘Suicide Squad’ adaptation!

Further expanding their incredibly popular ‘DC Icons’ line was a no-brainer, but DC has blown us away with some of these new reveals! In the coming months, we’ve got Sinestro, Shazaam, Nightwing, Deadshot, Catwoman, Etrigan The Demon, Captain Cold, and Green Lantern Jessica Cruz (Captain Cold and Jessica Cruz not pictured)! Also announced were two-packs of Blue Beetle (Ted Kord) and Booster Gold, as well as a ‘Super Sons’ set of Robin and Superboy (‘Super Sons’ not pictured).

DC also announced an entirely new line based on their already popular ‘DC Bombshells’ brand! These new Bombshells figures will feature highly detailed sculpts and a solid amount of articulation that appears to be the new standard at DC Collectibles! The first wave is comprised of Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Batwoman!

Wrapping up, DC Collectibles has a few other fantastic looking statues from across various lines. For the ‘Artist Designer’ series we’ve got Starfire based on artwork from Amanda Conner and The Joker by Brian Bolland (Joker not pictured). Mezco Takes The One:12 Collective To A New Level
There are few success stories quite like the instant popularity of Mezco’s One:12 Collective toyline of 6″ scale figures that pack all of the details of a 1:6th scale figures into half the size! The line is already one of the quickest growing on the market and Mezco looks to be showing no signs of slowing that train down! The team over at Hot Toys are primarily known for their incredibly detailed 1:6th scale figures of all of your favorite characters from… well just about everything! But they also have a few smaller scale figure lines geared towards collectors who want a little more style over substance (not that anything they make lacks either of those qualities)! Here’s where the Cosbaby line of adorable designer figures comes in! This week Hot Toys announced quite a few new pieces in their Cosbaby line, including an entire new series of figures! We’re getting a few new ‘Star Wars’ Cosbaby figures, and an entire line of figures based on ‘ALIENS” just in time to celebrate the film’s 30th Anniversary! An American Werewolf In SDCC
While there isn’t much information available yet for these, the team at Pop Culture Shock have officially debuted their new 7″ scale horror figures! So far the only figures announced are based on ‘American Werewolf In London’ and ‘John Carpenters The Thing’, but those are definitely two iconic movies in dire need of more collectibles! From ‘American Werewolf’, we can look forward to figures of David Kessler, Jack Goodman, and of course, we are finally getting a proper action figure of The Kessler Wolf! From ‘The Thing’ we’re getting what looks like an amazing rendition of R.J. MacReady in all of his glory! year after year, NECA never fails to impress with their new offerings at San Diego Comic-con! This year they’re following their usual tradition of catching collectors off guard with a ton of reveals that no one was expecting that gave us items that we didn’t realize how much we needed until they were revealed! To celebrate the 10th series in our bestselling Aliens line, we’re dedicating the full series to the classic Kenner Expanded Universe Aliens of the early 1990s!

Time To POP! Back For More Doctor Who
Collectors just can’t seem to get enough ‘Doctor Who’ merchandise, and Funko seems to be happy to oblige with the announcement of a new wave of ‘Doctor Who’ POP! Vinyls coming our way later this year! This wave is comprised of only two new characters and some new versions of old favorites! The new figures are The War Doctor and a 6″ Super Sized POP! Of Davros, while we also get a Tenth Doctor (with Hand), an Eleventh Doctor (Mr. Clever), and a Twelfth Doctor (with Guitar) to round out the wave. These are due out in the immediate future, so keep your eyes peeled!
