Warcraft

There is a lot riding on ‘Warcraft‘ doing well at the box office and if you don’t mind the high use of CGI in the film, then this actually is starting to look like a potentially hit. I say this as a fan of fantasy films and not as a ‘World of Warcraft’ addict. That being said, the studios have a long road ahead of them to try to capture the kind of audience reception that ‘Lord of the Rings’ was able to pull off and I honestly hope that they can pull it off.

There has been a pile of television spots after the first trailer was released though I must say that this gives more than enough of a new angle and shots to be worth your time to check out. Instead of the Orc point of view which has been the primary focus to date, we actually get to see quite a bit of the human side of things with regards to the perspective of Azeroth being attacked by giant green invaders.

As director Duncan Jones has always said, the lines of who is evil and good will be blurred here, this seems to really start being visible in the latest preview.

Check it out below!

While I had felt we were already getting some of the human perspectives of the war, this really is a bit of a game changer on how humanity is dealing with Orc invaders at the movie’s start. I suspect some of how both societies thrive will be explained in the prequel graphic novel ‘Warcraft: Bonds of Brotherhood’ but we’re still a couple months away from it being released.
