It seems that the folks behind Marvel’s ‘Iron Fist’ might just be as avid of fans of ‘Game of Thrones‘ as the rest of us, especially with the casting they have done on their show. First, we had the news of them casting Sir Loras Tyrell himself (Finn Jones) as the lead in ‘Iron Fist,’ the Kung Fu warrior known as Danny Rand, and now we have learned that he is not the only actor that will be appearing on both shows. Jessica Henwick has now been cast in the major role of Colleen Wing.

Fans will remember Henwick as one of the Sand Snakes, Nymeria in ‘Game of Thrones’ (she was the one who fought with whips), as well as her bit part in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ where she played Jessika “Testor” Pava, a minor character who has built a sizable fanbase online since the film’s premiere.

As for the character she will be playing, Colleen Wing factors heavily into the ‘Iron Fist’ storyline as a fellow martial artist focused on samurai swordsmanship and control over her chi, who is one of Danny Rand’s first official allies once he returns to New York city to become a vigilante. In the comics, she is also friends with police detective Misty Knight, a character that we know is being introduced during the ‘Luke Cage‘ series’ first season on Netflix. Henwick has the honor of being the first actress to play Wing onscreen, a character that has real potential to be used a lot more in the future, as Colleen Wing has been an ally and supporting player for many of Marvel’s famous titles, including ‘Avengers’ and ‘X-Men.’
