Quicksilver_talking_to_the_X-Men

No one questions the fact that of all the amazing scenes in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ none stood out as more exceptional than the one where we finally see Quicksilver truly use his powers to help break Magneto out of his Pentagon prison. With that in mind, it was certainly a no-brainer that Quicksilver would not only be returning for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse,’ but would also be coming back with a much bigger role in the film.

The biggest question, of course, is his relationship to Magneto, which was briefly hinted at during ‘Days of Future Past’ when Quicksilver mentions his mom once knew a guy who could manipulate metal. Recently, it has been made clear that the Magneto connection will be a big part of the character in ‘Apocalypse.’ On the subject of his relationship to Magneto, the actor portraying Quicksilver, Evan Peters, said the following:

“I have learned that he’s my father at this point and I am trying to … I don’t know what I can say. Yeah. It’s like an adoptive child or any kind of child who has a strange father trying to … He knows who he is now so he is trying to find him. He’s been searching for him. It’s been 10 years and he hasn’t found him and then something happens.”

Which of course makes it sound like Quicksilver might have a huge role to play in the film, as he may just be the man responsible for pulling Magneto back from the brink, as all of the trailers we have seen so far have shown a rather downtrodden Magneto who easily falls under the sway of the titular villain of the movie. While in the past it was Charles Xavier or Mystique that have brought out the humanity of Magneto, perhaps in this installment it will be his connection to his own son that will bring his powers in line with the forces of good represented  by the X-Men.

What are your thoughts on Quicksilver’s arc going into ‘X-Men: Apocalypse?’ Are you pleased he will have a bigger story? Or do you think he works best in small doses? Share your opinion in the comments below!
