Ever since it was announced that the next ‘X-Men’’ film would feature one of the mutants’ most formidable villains, fans have been giddy with excitement. Since the release of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ it was clear the cinematic franchise was back on track and now, with the trailer for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse,’ we are in for more than we could ever imagine! More mutants, more destruction and a classic look fans have been waiting for!

Unlike the trailer for ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,’ the trailer for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ does not disappoint! From the very beginning, the tone is set with a young Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) waking up and telling Xavier “I saw the end of the world. I could feel all this death.” Soon, via a voice over by Poe Dameron who plays the titular character, we are introduced to who and how powerful Apocalypse is.

As Dameron revealed in Entertainment Weekly:

“He’s believed to be the first mutant… [Apocalypse] is the creative-slash-destructive force of this earth. When things start to go awry, or when things seem like they’re not moving toward evolution, he destroys those civilizations. The last battle is going to be pretty insane. I mean, it’s like freaking Apocalypse fight all of the X-Men. It’s pretty cool.”

Before that battle, however, we see Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) in a surprising leadership role working with Professor X (Ewan McGregor) and some first very impressive looks of some young versions of Nightcrawler (Kodi Smitt-McPhee), Archangel (Ben Hardy), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Storm (Alexandra Shipp) and Jubilee (Lana Condor).

There are lots to be excited about here especially at the close of the footage (which could be considered a mid-credit reveal) which will have you yelling “YES!”

Check it out below and let us know what you think:

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
