Gal Gadot Wonder Woman

Whatever misgivings fans may have about ‘Batman V Superman‘, the one element that nearly everyone is excited about is that this film will, for the first time, bring Wonder Woman to the big screen.  And on The CW’s ‘Dawn of the Justice League’ special, DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns appeared to both espouse the virtues of the leading female superhero, but to also offer never-before-seen footage of Gal Gadot in action as Wonder Woman.

With additional input from Gadot herself and ‘Wonder Woman’ director Patty Jenkins, the clips– taken from both ‘WW’ and ‘Batman V Superman’– give viewers their first hints at what to expect from her first solo film foray, due in 2017.  Considering that the movie has only been filming for about two month, there’s plenty to see, including Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) riding through a forest (potentially on Themyscira), Trevor guiding Diana through Man’s World during World War I and, best of all, Gadot in full WW regalia in action, battling some centurion-esque enemies (agents of Ares, perhaps?).

You can watch for yourself below:

So far, what do you think?  Quite a switch from the urban wreckage seen in the ‘Batman V Superman’ footage, wouldn’t you say?  Gadot certainly seems to look the part.

Though we don’t hear any dialogue from either film, at least it LOOKS good.  Like I said, the movie has only been shooting for about two months, so expect things to look quite different when the finished product is presented.

Are you excited to see ‘Wonder Woman’ in her own movie?

‘Wonder Woman’ starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya, and Lucy Davis will be released on June 23, 2017.
