If you ask anyone about the highlight of Friday at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, I think that you’ll have a hard time finding someone who doesn’t say the ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ panel. Despite not bringing any new footage from the film, director J.J. Abrams and company brought the house down with an excellent behind the scenes featurette showing off all the physical sets, animatronics, and practical effects utilized in filming ‘Episode VII.’ And then after the panel, the 7,000 attendees in Hall H were invited to an insanely awesome outdoor ‘Star Wars’ concert with free lightsabers and a fireworks display. However, there were some pretty awesome moments during the presentation itself and now you can check it out in it’s entirety.

For yesterday’s proceedings, Abrams was joined at SDCC by Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, the film’s screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, and a number of cast members including Peter Mayhew, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendolyn Christie, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, and Harrison Ford, who was recovering from his recent plane crash. Aside from everyone sharing their excitement for the upcoming film, Boyega shared some surreal moments from shooting, Christie talked about her character Captain Phasma and her place among the Dark Side, and Ford revealed how easy it was to step back into the role of Han Solo. Gleeson even dropped a little bit of a spoiler that revealed an homage in their film to the original version of George Lucas’ script. This con marks the first time that the Dark Side has come out in full force (no pun intended). By the sounds of things, Gleeson, Christie, and Driver should be interesting new additions to the ‘Star Wars’ mythology. I for one am very much looking forward to finding out more about them. But what aspects of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ are you most excited for? Let us know in the comment section.
