It only makes sense, I suppose.  Last season, ‘Arrow’ set up Barry Allen (played by Grant Gustin) as a significant character in multiple episodes before depicting his “Secret Origin” when he was doused by chemicals and struck by energy from the malfunctioning S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator, turning into the super swift Flash, who received his own spin-off series in fall 2014.

This season on ‘Arrow,’ Ray Palmer (played by Brandon Routh) has been given a regular role as he develops the technology to become The Atom.  Meanwhile, over on ‘The Flash,’ it was revealed that Caitlin’s “deceased” fiancé Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell) turned out to be alive, only merged with Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber) as Firestorm.  Does that mean, like ‘The Flash’, these heroes will get their own shows?  If so, shouldn’t The CW just go ahead and change its name to The DC?

Well, not quite.  But The CW is planning to add onto its blossoming DC TV Universe with… a team-up show!  Created by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim, the same masterminds behind ‘Arrow,’ The CW is hoping that fall 2015 sees the introduction of a show starring Routh, Garber, Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold on ‘The Flash’) and Caity Lotz (Sarah Lance aka the first DEAD Black Canary from ‘Arrow’).  Yeah things just got murky.

There is no mention of Robbie Amell, the other half of Firestorm (his symbiotic relationship with Stein was established on ‘The Flash’) and like I said, Lotz’s Sarah Lance character is– at least for now– dead.  Then again, so was Oliver this season and he got better.  Also, what role will Miller play?  I mean obviously, he plays Captain Cold, but in the comics, Cold has been a villain for most of his existence, an anti-hero recently and currently a full-on member of the Justice League.  Where in the spectrum will he fall in the new series?  Well… hell, I don’t know.  Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

But an even bigger mystery is Caity Lotz’s casting.  She was fabulous as Sarah Lance/The Canary last season on ‘Arrow’.  How on Earth will they bring her back?  They can’t expect us to buy her as another character, can they?

Oh and just to mix things up, the show will feature three DC characters who have never appeared on a TV series.  (My money’s on Katanna, as her secret identity of Tatsu Yamashiro has factored heavily on this season of ‘Arrow’.  Vibe is also a possibility as his alter ego, Cisco Ramon is a regular on ‘The Flash.’)

Well, this is the first mention of this show even POSSIBLY existing, so as the development moves forward, things should become clearer.

Are you interested in another CW super hero series?  Especially one starring a team?  Who would you like to see appear on this?
