In Marvel’s upcoming ‘Agent Carter, we’re going to see Hayley Atwell return as Peggy Carter and these new behind the scenes videos have me even more excited. We’ve only got a few days left until we see more of the character who was a surprise stand out in ‘Captain America: The First Avenger‘ and this is where we see her help found the Strategic Scientific Reserve. There have been hints at where we’ll see Carter end up from flashbacks on Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ but this will see her starting off as a secretary and evolving into the leader of the agency that will later become S.H.I.E.L.D.

I’m really curious to see how she has to step down from the level of authority she had to a secretary before regaining the status she had become accustomed too.

For those of you not familiar with who Peggy Carter is, Atwell introduces her character in this great behind the scenes video. You can check it below followed by the series’ synopsis.

Years before Agent Coulson and his S.H.I.E.L.D. team swore to protect those who cannot protect themselves from threats they cannot conceive, there was Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell, Marvel’s “Captain America: The First Avenger,” Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”), who pledged the same oath but lived in a different time when women weren’t recognized as being as smart or as tough as their male counterparts. But no one should ever underestimate Peggy.

The only downside to this series is it is going to add in more cuts for viewing Marvel’s Phase 1 in chronological order. Basically, if the series looks as good as the trailers have been, there shouldn’t be a real downside.

Clearly with a release date of January 6th, it is a birthday present from Marvel to me as I’m looking forward to its release. What about the rest of you True Believers out there?  Do you think Marvel has something amazing up their sleeves? Will it be better off the bat where ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ took awhile to build up properly? Share your thoughts below!

‘Agent Carter’ premieres January 6th at 8|7c on ABC.
