Recently a new and slightly expanded synopsis has been revealed for Marvel’s upcoming ‘Ant-Man‘ which has given us a new insight on a few of the actors’ roles! We’ve also seen one actor tell more about their character in an interview. Some of the details below could potentially be spoilers so as always, you’ve been warned! That being said, if you’ve been eager to find out more for Marvel’s upcoming film there are a few new tidbits below.

So what have we learned? Well it seems that Tip “T.I.” Harris is playing a character named Dave, David Dastmalchian will be playing Kurt, Wood Harris will be Gale, and Judy Greer is going to be playing a character named Maggie. We know that Maggie is set to be Scott Lange’s ex-wife but it is still a little unclear as to the roles of the other characters. We’re also seeing that Jordi Mollà is on board to be playing a villain named Castillo who previous rumors have both as a take on President Fidel Castro as well as a super villain from the beginning of the film. The introduction is set to take place in the 1960’s where Hank Pym is still young and a spy for the US Government. How much of the film will focus on this time period as opposed to paying attention to Scott Lang’s character and an older Pym is still up in the air. Also this really feels like a great time for a certain Agent Peggy Carter cameo, I’m jut saying.

That isn’t all of the news though as Bobby Cannavale has spoken up about his character a little when asked about it during a promotion for ‘Annie.’ When talking about how he ended up joining the film, he responded:

“Well, that was cool…And that was, again, another personal situation for me. Paul Rudd and I, you know, he’s one of my best friends—and he’s playing Ant-Man! It’s the weirdest thing in the world. We used to play cards for 50 cents a hand when we had no money at the same time, and here he is playing Ant-Man. He called me up and he’s like, ‘Dude, they want you to play this part. You should come out. It’s just me and you in all of the scenes.’ It was kind of easy for me to do.”

Talk about a great way to help out one of your real life best friends by getting him a gig where he plays one of your best friends in a blockbuster movie. Seems like a great fit and the innate chemistry the two should have on screen together. I’m sure the outtakes for this will be hysterical.

Things are finally almost completed for Marvel’s smallest hero and everyone is sitting up to take notice. With the thought of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ being a huge risk when first announced to being an absolute blockbuster it would seem that Warner Brothers has just pushed back the release of ‘Pan’. The studio’s live-action take on the origin of Peter Pan might have an all star cast including a member of Fox’s Marvel Universe with Hugh Jackman (‘The Wolverine’) but they pushed it back a week in order to not compete with the July 17th, 2015 release of ‘Ant-Man’.
