During Sony’s PlayStation Experience event, Atlus confirmed that the highly anticipated upcoming JRPG ‘Persona 5’ will be heading to North America on PS4 in 2015.

Alongside the announcement, Atlus has also released another teaser for the game, which you can watch below. For those who find it strikingly familiar, it’s because the teaser is actually the same one we’ve all seen from the Tokyo Game Show back in September. However, Atlus has released it in English in order to commemorate the game’s North American PS4 release announcement during PlayStation Experience.

Very little has been announced about ‘Persona 5’ in terms of its story and gameplay. So far, all that has been revealed are just vague details shown in the game’s two teaser trailers. A prominent symbol that has been showing up often in both teasers are a ball and chain. What this alludes to in terms of the game’s story is still unknown.

Previously only announced for North American release on PS3, ‘Persona 5’ is the newest installment in the long running ‘Shin Megami Tensei: Persona’ series,  a series that focuses on people who have the power to summon battle-ready manifestations of their psyches known as Personas. The series often features the juxtaposition between daily life in a modern world and a supernatural world filled with demons.

Ever since 1996, the ‘Shin Megami Tensei: Persona’ series has had a constant presence on Sony consoles and handhelds having spawned a variety of sequels and spin-offs. Major commercial attention for the series first started back in 2006 when ‘Shin Megami Tensei: Person 3’ released for the PS2, receiving widespread critical acclaim by critics and fans alike in both Japan and the West. This stretched on to ‘Persona 4’, which received similar acclaim. In fact, both ‘Persona 3’ and ‘Persona 4’ have been featured various times on lists of top RPGs.

‘Persona 5’ will be releasing on PS3 and PS4 sometime in 2015.
