Hollywood power couple Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burtka will be popping up on Ryan Murphy’s ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show‘ in the last two episodes of this season.  Harris, who previously appeared on Murphy’s other hit show ‘Glee,’ will appear in the last two episodes of the season as a “chameleon salesman.”  I’m not sure if that means he will actually be selling chameleons or if he’s some sort of disguise expert.  Burtka (who I wasn’t even aware was an actor) will appear in the final episode and will have some sort of interaction with Elsa Mars (Jessica Lange).

Murphy commented on Harris’ involvement by saying:

“He’s game; he had very specific ideas about what he wanted to do and I have specific ideas. We’re working on melding those.  I’d love to see him and Jessica Lange go at it in a really fun way, and Neil seems intrigued by that notion. We’re inching forward.”

Another former ‘Glee’ guest star, Matt Bomer is also slated to put in an appearance on ‘Freak Show’.

In other news, as viewers have already realized, Naomi Grossman has reprised her ‘Asylum‘ role as Pepper the Pinhead in this season.  Now, look forward to Lily Rabe to return to the role of Sister Mary Eunice, also from ‘Asylum’ to build a bridge between the second season and the current one.  It’s entirely possible that at some point every season of ‘American Horror Story’ will be connected in some way.  She will appear in episode 10 and will explain how Pepper went from the ‘Freak Show’ to a resident at Briarcliff Asylum.

So far, ‘Freak Show’ has proven to be one of the creepiest installments of ‘American Horror Story’ so far.  But maybe that’s just me and my “clown thing”.  (Brrrrrrr!)

Do you like the idea of the various ‘American Horror Story’ seasons tying together?  Are you looking forward to Lyly Rabe’s return or the introduction of Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka?
