Yes, folks, those of you who are attending San Diego Comic-Con 2017 are in for another special treat as you’ll be the first to see the debut of Season 3 of ‘Voltron: The Legendary Defender‘! With the second season having already streamed in January, it is a pretty quick turn around for the third to be kicking off this year! While fans will undoubtedly be excited for more of ‘Voltron: The Legendary Defender.’ the only worry is that this will put us at 37 of the 78-episode commitment which means that unless Netflix ups the order we’re likely a couple of years from the homestretch of the series.
That shouldn’t put a damper on the Comic-Con goers though as DreamWorks Animation Television and Netflix have confirmed that July 20th, 2017 is when you’ll be able to check out the first episode as part of the panel for the event. Outside of the initial episode, you’ll also be able to hear from “executive producer Joaquim Dos Santos, co-executive producer Lauren Montgomery, and voice actors Bex Taylor-Klaus (Pidge) and Tyler Labine (Hunk).”
There will also be a Voltron Cosplay and Fan Meetup on the same day and an autograph session which you can buy tickets for on July 21st, 2017.
Fans of the original series have been eagerly awaiting news of the upcoming season as the first trailer teased that we’ll finally be seeing the Voltron Force go head to head against Prince Lotor! With Lotor wanting to pay out revenge in spades and Shiro having disappeared meaning that the team can’t assemble Voltron, you just know that these heroes will be in for the fight of their lives. Most likely, this will follow the original cartoon’s story and end with Keith taking over as the leader of the group but only time will tell.
Are you looking forward to the third season of ‘Voltron: The Legendary Defender’? If you are attending SDCC 2017 will you be checking out this panel to get a jump start on the third season? Share your thoughts below!
‘Voltron: The Legendary Defender’ Season 3 will premiere at San Diego Comic-Con before roaring onto Netflix on August 4th, 2017!
