It is my esteemed pleasure to welcome you back to another all new edition of your favorite weekly toy column here at Sciencefiction.com; Toy News Tuesday! Here’s where we scour the internet to find and bring you all of the best toy industry news each and every week! San Diego Comic Con kick’s off in just under two weeks, so there are still plenty of exclusives being announced! Let’s check out the news for the week of July 15th, 2014!

Hot Toy’s Iron Man has a ‘Bone’ to Pick

While ‘Iron-Man 3’ mat have been one of the hit movies LAST summer, this summer Hot Toys is still bringing the party to you with their seemingly never ending collection of Iron-Man’s ‘Hall of Armor’ figures! The latest and greatest (or at least arguably most interesting looking so far) is the Mark XLI Armor; better known as the ‘Bones’ armor. This epic armor set is unique in that it’s built out of magnetic components that allow the armor set to come completely apart while remaining one solid impressive figure! It features sweet LED light-up functionality and includes a bunch of cool flame accessories to make it look like the armor has piece apart and is flying on it’s own in pieces! This guy is set to release in June of 2015!  Check out the full release from Hot Toys below:

“Gentlemen!” and with that said, the Skeleton Suit Mark XLI has split into multiple parts to attack Extremis soldiers during Tony Stark’s showdown with Aldrich Killian in Iron Man 3! Nicknamed “Bones’, this armor is built by Tony Stark with speed and maneuverability in mind. It earns its name because of the very unique external appearance of thin black and gold colored armor plating with internal contents exposed.

Today Hot Toys is proud to present this distinctive armor from the Iron Legion – 1/6th scale Bones (Mark XLI) Collectible Figure! In addition to featuring finely crafted structure, black and gold colored armor, LED light-up functions and accessories, this collectible figure has specially designed magnetic components which allow it to be split into multiple parts and re-attach back together at will.

Iron Man fans should not miss out on the opportunity to pre-order this one-of-a-kind armor from the House Party Protocol!

DC Collectibles Coming At You

It’s crunch time with less than two-weeks to go until SDCC is in full swing! The Crew at DC Collectibles decided to jump the gun a little early with a few sneak peaks at items set to debut at the convention this month! Aside from a wide selection of new statues and busts, DC Collectibles is premiering a bunch of awesome new DC Comics action figures set to hit your collection in the coming months!

First up is the new series of figures based on DC Entertainment’s hit TV series ‘Arrow’! While we got an Arrow and Slade two pack a few months back, now we’re getting a full series of figures based on the show! In this first wave we can expect to see two versions of Arrow, as well as Deathstroke, Canary,  and the Dark Archer (not pictured)!

Who better to accompany your new ‘Arrow’ figures than the scarlet speedster himself, The Flash! This figure is based off the character’s appearance in his upcoming self titled series that will also be on the CW and spun out of ‘Arrow’ season two!

If life action isn’t your thing and you’re looking for something a little more animated, DC Collectibles just announced a third wave of figures based on the classic ‘Batman: The Animated Series’! While pictures are only available for Harley Quinn, this next wave is set to include Killer Croc, The Creeper, and Robin! It hasn’t been revealed if Killer Croc will feature his grey and bumpy look from early in the series, of his larger green skinned appearance from later in the series run. It’s generally assumed that the Robin in this wave will be Tim Drake from ‘New Adventures’, as Dick Grayson Robin was in wave 2!

If you’re less into TV series and more into gaming, DC Collectibles has you covered with the first wave of figures based on the upcoming threequil ‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ video game! This first wave of figures is set to include Batman, Harley Quinn, The Scarecrow, and The Arkham Knight himself!

On the off chance you’re actually just really into DC Comics themselves instead of other entertainment mediums, DC Collectibles has just revealed a third wave of their Greg Capullo Designer series! This third wave of figures is set to include a ‘Year Zero’ Batman, Commisioner Gordon, Two-Face, and Batgirl.

The First Doctor had an unquenchable thirst to explore, and a knack of getting himself into trouble doing it. An exile from his homeworld, the Doctor wanders through space and time in his trusty TARDIS with his granddaughter Susan. Both a loving father-figure and a fierce opponent, he would often play deadly games with his foes. It was after preventing the Cybermen from absorbing the Earth’s energy, and with his body “wearing a bit thin”, that the First Doctor collapses to the TARDIS floor and begins his first regeneration.
Outfitted in flamboyant gentleman’s attire, including a cape and Astrakahn hat, the First Doctor comes with numerous accessories including his horn handle walking cane, monocle and pipe. With eight interchangeable hands, to enable numerous poses and a light-up display base with the Gallifreyan symbol for one, the First Doctor 1:6 Scale Commemorative Edition is the definitive collectable for fans of the Time Lord.

To develop the most accurately scaled collector’s figure, our artists studied countless reference photographs, to create a realistic and authentic character portrait of the First Doctor so memorabily portrayed by actor William Hartnell. The Doctor’s trademark costume was hand-tailored in exacting detail, together with his accessories.

Officially licensed and authorised by BBC Worldwide, the First Doctor 1:6 Scale Commemorative Edition is produced in a worldwide Limited Edition exclusively available from www.bigchiefstudios.co.uk and will not be sold via other retailers.
