A few weeks after Sarah Paulson tweeted her unique double role in the anthology series ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show,’ there’s now news about the role that Michael Chiklis will be playing! Believe me when I say, it seems like a perfect fit!

Chiklis is best known for his role as Vic Mackay on FX’ ‘The Shield,’ but is also recognizable from the 2005 ‘Fantastic Four’ film where he played the Thing. His tough guy persona seems to be one that follows the actor as it looks as if his strong arm tactics will also be helpful in ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’  too! At the TV Critics Choice Awards, executive producer Ryan Murphy let it be known that Chiklis will be playing “a strong man who’s vulnerable” in the series. Here’s Murphy’s full quote:

“He has scenes with Angela and Jessica Lange and [onscreen ex] Kathy Bates. I love the part because it’s really written to be quite vulnerable, which is something I think Michael does so well – the strong man who’s vulnerable. I’m very excited to see [him] tussle with all those great ladies. And he’s really up for it, really excited about it.”

So what else do we know about the Strong Man? Well, he’ll be the father of Evan Peter’s character and the ex-husband of Kathy Bates’ character. The twist? He’s now married to Angela Bassett’s character and everyone in this this happily dysfunctional family are all performers in a freak show run by Jessica Lange’s character who is a German expatriate. Yes, juicy! Looks like the war between Bates and Bassett in ‘Coven’ has been reincarnated for another season! If their last go around on being opposite ends is any indication, we’ll be seeing some worthy scenes between the two.

The season premiere for the series isn’t until October, but with filming slated to begin in a few weeks, expect more information to come out about the show!
