It’s been one of those nudge, nudge, wink, wink type of denials, but talk of Carrie Fisher reprising her role as Princess Leia in ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ has been one of those best-kept-non-secret-non-official rumors that have been floating around since the announcement of the movie. Well now it seems we have another nonofficial confirmation of her appearance.

While Disney, Lucasfilm and J.J. Abrams have yet to confirm any of the cast for ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ (with the exception that Adam Driver will play an unknown villain), Fisher has stated numerous times that she will be in the film. On top of that, Australian comedian Jim Jefferies has let the cat out of the bag, so to speak, as to how much she will appear in the film.

Fisher will be guest starring in Jefferies’ FXX television series ‘Legit’, and while on the Sirius SM morning talk show ‘The Opie and Anthony Show’, the comedian talked about what it was like working with her and let out this little bit of information:

“She’s a funny lady, man. She’ll be smoking cigarettes outside and as soon as she gets inside, she’s straight on to the vapor. She’s had some fucking hard partying in her life, I tell ya….She said to me, she goes ‘I’m going off to London for six months to film the new Star Wars movie,’ right? And I don’t think from looking at it, the new Star Wars movie is a direct continuation. It’s number 7 but it’s not going to be the next day, I’ll tell you that much. Maybe she had the same problem the Emperor had, I don’t know.”

Joking around about Jefferies’ comment on how much Fisher has changed since her Princess Leia days, Andy and Opie commented on how she may be there just for a cameo. To which Jeffries replied, “She’s there for 6 months!”

So what does that mean? Not only will Fisher be in ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’, but her role will be substantial as she will be in London for half a year filming the project!

Late last year, Abrams decided to take the scriptwriting reins away from Michael Arndt and rewrite the script with Lawrence Kasdan. While the official word from Abrams was that the deed was done so that the script would be ready in time for filming to being later this year, some say that the script was being rewritten so that the focus of ‘Episode VII’ would be shifted to center more on the original cast members than on their offspring as originally thought. With the reveal that Fisher will be in London for 6 months for filming, this seems to be the case.

Of course this is still all unofficial as we wait for any news from the studios regarding the film. Hopefully once production begins, more information will be available.
