After bringing many DC heroes to their network over the years with shows like ‘Smallville’, ‘Arrow’, and a possible spinoff for Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen in ‘The Flash’, the CW appears to be bringing in yet another property that once had a great following on TV before. Except the last time we saw this collection of heroes together on the small screen, they were animated. Now, word going around is that ‘Young Justice’ might have new life as a live action teen drama.

According to Bleeding Cool, sources indicate that Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment are planning to revive the former Cartoon Network franchise as one of The CW’s trademark drama/romance shows featuring the team of young heroes. So far, they’ve noted that Superboy and Miss Martian are definitely the leaders of the team, but no other team members have been mentioned. Here’s what it says in the report:

“Bleeding Cool has been led to believe by a recently-reliable source that the CW is developing another live action teen drama/romance series with a superhero twist, based on the Young Justice cartoon, games and comics, being prepped for 2015.”

It sounds like the network is looking to add a little superhero flare geared towards a younger crowd to it’s lineup that already includes favorites like ‘Supernatural’, ‘The Vampire Diaries’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’, and ‘The Carrie Diaries’. However, it should be noted that no official announcement has been made concerning the new show, so it should definitely be treated as a rumor for now.

Although, if it were to come to fruition, one has to wonder who would be included on the team. There’s been talks of Roy Harper, the first person to take up the mantle of Green Arrow’s sidekick Speedy, appearing more prominently in ‘Arrow’, but could he be making a jump to the ‘Young Justice’ team to connect the show to the larger DC Universe? What about Robin/Nightwing? It looks like Batman’s young ward could be appearing in the upcoming ‘Batman Vs. Superman’ film, so could he left out the roster of the rumored show? And of course, there’s also Aqualad, Kid Flash, Artemis, and Zatanna that could be added to the mix as well.

What do you think about a ‘Young Justice’ live action show on The CW? What team members would you want to see make the jump from the cartoon? Do you think that it will connect with DC’s already established mythology on the network by having connections to ‘Arrow’ or even ‘Man of Steel’? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
