The second Hunger Games movie, ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ will be a surefire hit, but just in case, promotions for the film have increased as we approach the November 22 release date.

The second movie finds the co-victors of the last Games, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Melark (Josh Hutcherson) dragged back into the arena after Katniss’ rebellious actions in their first tournament have inspired rumblings of rebellion in the downtrodden citizens of their nation of Panem.  As a result, the pair will be forced once more to battle to the death, this time against other former victors including heart throb Finnick Odair (Sam Flaflin).  The stakes are considerably higher this time.

But Katniss never intended to be a symbol or a rebel leader.  She merely wanted to, initially, save her sister and ultimately to save herself and Peeta.  Now that things have spiraled out of her control, she is starting to crack under the pressure.  The following clip illustrates that, as Katniss panics after the sinister President Snow (Donald Sutherland) pays her a personal visit:

In slightly lighter news, Liam Hemsworth, who plays Gale Hawthorne, paid a visit to the ‘Tonight Show’ hosted by Jay Leno where he dished on working with Jennifer Lawrence.  Apparently, you can’t judge the actress by the intensity she brings to the role of Katniss or her other dramatic roles.  Off camera, she appears to be a bit of a goofball!

In stark contrast, Leno then showed a tense clip from ‘Catching Fire’ in which Katniss tries to urge Gale to run away into the woods with her to escape the clutches of the Capitol.  Just then, a new fleet of Peacekeepers arrive, which surely means dire things for District 12.  You can watch the entire clip below:

I don’t know about you, but November 22nd can’t get here fast enough.  Thor, you’re great and all, but I want to dive back into Panem and thrill to the exploits of Katniss and the other tributes!
