Just on the heels of posting 20 new images from ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ and an IMAX Featurette showing off how they are going to be using the technology in the film, one might ask what else we can show? Well how about another three new shots from the film that were just released by Entertainment Weekly? While the focus is on Katniss, who we’ve obviously already been seeing a lot of, there is one new shot that sticks out:
There is a great view of Jennifer Lawrence (‘X-Men: First Class‘) reprising her role as Katniss Everdeen in two of the shots above. The first of the two has her looking concerned and the second also includes Woody Harrelson’s (‘Zombieland’) Haymitch Abernathy as well as Josh Hutcherson’s (‘The Hunger Games‘) Peeta Mellark stuck behind her while surrounded by guards. In the third shot we have Jena Malone (‘Sucker Punch‘) as Johanna Mason sitting between a group of men, being the only one there that looks at all serious on what is happening.
While the new shots of Katniss didn’t do much for me personally, I have a feeling the scene referenced with Johanna Mason will probably prove to be entertaining.
Are you looking forward to ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ to be released near the end of November? Do you think it’s going to match the high praise the first film in the trilogy turned tetralogy? Or is this an overhyped film that you are sick of reading about?
Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ opens in traditional theaters and IMAX on November 22.
