We were able to take a look at the first few images from ‘Under the Skin’ nearly a year ago and have been eagerly awaiting more details to drop on the film. While they’ve been light on coming, we can finally enjoy the first teaser trailer for the film!

For those who were a fan of Scarlet Johansson (‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier‘) in her body suit as The Black Widow from ‘The Avengers‘ you’ll probably be excited to see her wearing even less in the teaser alone. For those of you who remember that hey, she can actually act too, you sadly won’t be seeing much of that in this teaser. Honestly, a pure on teaser is what it is as watching the trailer won’t give you any ideas of what the plot is about.

So here’s the official synopsis for you to enjoy:

“Johansson plays an alien on earth, disguised as the perfect aesthetic form of a mesmerizing woman. She scours remote highways and desolate scenery looking to use her greatest weapon to snare human prey — her voracious sexuality. She is deadly efficient, but over time becomes drawn to and changed by the complexity of life on earth. With this new found humanity and weakening alien resolve, she finds herself on a collision course with her own kind. Taking her point of view throughout, the film presents a unique look at our world through alien eyes.”

So yes this film is about an alien who is seducing her way to get new meals. Much like many aliens of the past, her food source of choice? Humanity. I’m reminded slightly of ‘Species,’ aside that she will be looking to feed, not procreate. Another odd similarity to ‘Species’ is that it starred Ben Kingsley (‘Ender’s Game‘). The director of ‘Under the Skin’ skin is Jonathan Glazer who previously directed Kingsly in his Oscar nominated performance in ‘Sexy Beast’.

It’s kind of like things have come full circle and it’s all about female aliens seducing humanity to kill them. I know that’d be at the top of my list of ways to die.

While ‘Under The Skin’ doesn’t yet have U.S. distribution, it is rumored that the film would be released sometime next year. Until then, check out the trailer below:
