On June 6th of 2014, the upcoming re-imaged ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ is going to be released. There was a bit of controversy when the film was first announced’ though things have been moving forward and a lot of it has blown over. While originally rumored to have a complete origin change which involved them to be no longer mutants but aliens, they are fortunately back to being mutants. While Comic-Con had many properties in attendance, we know that at the very least the turtles were busy fighting crime as there have been a pile of photos released from the streets of New York. We have a few of them to show off of Raphael, Megan Fox, Will Arnett and Whoopie Goldberg.

There is also an image of Raph that will cause any fan of the first live action film to grin as he’s dressed in his ‘human disguise’ that he used to move around the city in. While the film isn’t supposed to take place in the world of any of the existing properties it does seem to be borrowing heavily from all of them.

The movie is going to be directed by Jonathan Liebesman and features a screenplay with a few names attached to it as it’s by Josh Appelbaum, Andrew Nemec, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and John Fusco. The film is based on the characters created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman. On the mutant front we have Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo and Danny Woodburn as everyone’s favorite rodent – Master Splinter. On the human side of things we know that Megan Fox will be playing April O’Neil, Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, and William Fichtner will be playing Shredder.

I’m not sure how I feel about a new ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ movie quite yet, especially a live action one. The last CGI film was pretty amazing actually so we’ll have to see what they can pull off when this is released. What do you think? Are we in for something good or is this another flop of a remake waiting to happen?
