TV Guide has gotten the scoop on the final principal cast members of the July direct-to-DVD movie Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, and they’re certainly not strangers to one another.  Grey’s Anatomy cast members Kevin McKidd and Justin Chambers will provide the voices of Batman and The Flash, respectively.  And in case you haven’t read the miniseries, which closed the door on the existing DC Universe and launched the New 52…

SPOILER ALERT!

This tale, based on the 2011 miniseries Flashpoint (and its various tie-ins) written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by Andy Kubert, was the first major showcase for Barry Allen, who returned to life in Final Crisis, and finds himself in an altered reality where, among other radical differences from the typical DC Universe, Bruce Wayne had died in Crime Alley along with his mother, Martha, which then inspires his father Doctor Thomas Wayne to become this world’s Batman.

Characters were completely altered with new spins on Shazam! (here, S!H!A!Z!A!M!) and with Aquaman and Wonder Woman warring upon one-another with their respective armies behind them.  And new characters, like Pandora and Element Woman were introduced.  (They will probably not appear, though, as the movie is only 90 minutes long and will likely focus solely on the core Justice League.)

Already announced, the rest of the cast includes Michael B. Jordan (Chronicle, Parenthood) as Cyborg, a government sponsored super hero; C. Thomas Howell (Torchwood: Miracle Day, The Amazing Spider-Man, ET) as Professor Zoom/The Reverse Flash, the film’s main antagonist; Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride, the aborted Wonder Woman pilot); Sam Daly (The Daily Show) as Aquaman; Ron Perlman (Oh you know who he is!) as Deathstroke the Terminator, Slade Wilson; and Danny Huston (Clash of the Titans, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) as General Sam Lane (Lois’ father).  Vanessa Marshall, who voiced Black Canary on Young Justice and Black Widow on Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes steps it up as Wonder Woman, while veterans Kevin Conroy, Dana Delany and Nathan Fillion reprise their roles as Batman (Bruce Wayne, the real world version), Lois Lane and Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), respectively.

The animated movie, directed by Jay Oliva, will be released on July 30 in Blu-ray, DVD, On Demand and digital download formats from Warner Bros. Animation, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

This is Warner Animation’s official description:

“When time travel allows a past wrong to be righted for The Flash and his family, the ripples of the event prove disastrous as a fractured, alternate reality now exists where a Justice League never formed, and even Superman is nowhere to be found. Teaming with a grittier, more violent Dark Knight and Cyborg, Flash races to restore the continuity of his original timeline while this new world is ravaged by a fierce war between Wonder Woman’s Amazons and Aquaman’s Atlanteans. With breath taking action and an all-star voice cast, it’s a bold, emotional vision that will forever change the landscape of the DC Universe.”
