Fueled by fan outcry, a website called SMGO.tv is in negotiations with Warner Brothers to set up a meeting to discuss reviving Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice!  Our prayers have been answered!  The site announced via Tumblr, that a meeting will occur in April and the studio will decide whether or not to allow SMGO to create a Kickstarter-like campaign, allowing fans to contribute money in order to help bring these two fan-favorite cartoons back.  ( I don’t quite get this, considering Warner Brothers is a multimillion… if not billion dollar company.)

Both series were reveled to be cancelled last month when neither show was listed on Cartoon Network’s “upfronts,” while two other DC Comics-based shows were, Beware The Batman and Teen Titans Go!.  (Neither Cartoon Network nor Warner Brothers bothered making an official statement.)  Fan outrage quickly ensued, but sadly, the final episodes of each show aired last weekend.

Now there is a glimmer of hope, as the companies contemplate producing additional episodes!  (We could at least get to the Darkseid storyline and hopefully Wally’s return in Young Justice and the recovery of Aya on Green Lantern.) I will continue to keep you, my sciencefiction.com readers informed as any additional news develops.

Meanwhile, if you haven’t already, please sign this petition to support the return of these great shows and continue to make your voice heard.  Post this article or the petition on social networks so any friends you have can also join the cause.

Is this good news?  How do you feel about having to pay to get these shows back?  What are you hoping to see if we do get more episodes?  Please leave a comment below!
