This week, ‘Batman’ #13 hit comic book shops everywhere and it featured the return of a much darker and more twisted Joker to the New 52 in an event called ‘Death of the Family’. At this year’s New York Comic Con, I was able to chat with the mastermind behind it all, writer Scott Snyder.

During the interview, Synder gives us some insight as to what’s to come in this crazy storyline, who will end up being affected, and the way he and the rest of the Bat-writers approached the long-standing history of the character. He also talks about collaboration with other writers and with his amazing artist on ‘Batman’, Greg Capullo.

Also, be warned that we talk quite a bit about issue thirteen, so if you have not read it yet, you might want to go do that before watching the interview below, courtesy of The Pretentious Film Majors:

I’m super excited to check out the rest of this story from Scott as it comes out. Most of you may know me mostly as a Marvel guy, but Mr. Snyder is really making me want to check out what the New 52 Batman has to offer.
