At Marvel’s second panel of this year’s con, which was immediately after the first one and all the way on the other side of the convention center, a whole mess of extremely talented creators gathered to talk about what’s in store for the X-Men once Marvel NOW gets going.

Mostly, all we got was some new covers from upcoming issues of things like ‘All New X-Men’,  ‘Wolverine & the X-Men’, ‘X-Men Legacy’, and other recently announced books like the new ‘Uncanny X-Force’, which is being described as David Lynch directing a James Bond movie and features the return of Mohawk Storm, Frank Cho’s Indiana Jones-esque ‘Savage Wolverine’ featuring Shanna the She-Devil, and the new Deadpool book.

‘Cable & the X-Force’ was a pretty big topic of conversation during this panel. It’s said to be a throwback to the 90s version of the team. Basically, Cable wants to retire but he still has one last thing to do. Meanwhile, his team becomes outlaws from the newly-formed Uncanny Avengers.

Writer Peter David was very animated while talking about ‘X-Factor’. He said that there are things coming up in his book that would normally get months and months of teasing, but he decided not to share a thing, especially about issue #245. When all is said and done, David said that “every character in the Marvel Universe will be gunning for X-Factor”.

Aside from finding out that Kang the Conquerer and Apocalypse would be involved in ‘Uncanny Avengers’ in some way, a highlight of the panel to note was Gerry Duggan talking about his new Deadpool book and showing off some new artwork from it, including a cover featuring the Merc with a Mouth going toe to toe with Undead Honest Abe.
