The latest pictures from the set of ‘The Wolverine’ appear to reveal a pretty big spoiler from the movie and an awesome connection to the larger X-Men universe.

As we know, James Mangold’s film is based on the iconic story by Frank Miller and Chris Claremont that follows Logan as he adventures in Japan. But according to this new picture from the set courtesy of Blastr, A certain JG might have something to do with ‘The Wolverine’. Take a look at the picture:

The logo on the floor resembles the logo of The Jean Grey School For Higher Learning, which Wolverine is the headmaster of. Could Mangold be using a framing device of the present day to bookend his movie? Maybe…

BUT MAYBE NOT! I’ve got some information for you that will debunk these rumors right now. I saw the picture and I realized that I had seen that logo on a screen rather than a comic book before. Look at this picture that I screenshotted:

That’s from the trailer of Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, ‘The Great Gatsby’, which shot in Australia before ‘The Wolverine’ did. Look closely at the logo on the floor near the girls with the yellow dresses. Same logo. Boom. Myth busted. The JG stands for Jay Gatsby.

But maybe after these rumors have started to fly around, the director will add it in? I hope not since the story doesn’t call for it at all, but it’s a possibility.

‘The Wolverine’, starring Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Brian Tee, Rila Fukushima, Tao Okamoto, and possibly Svetlana Khodchenkova, opens in theaters on July 26, 2013.
