If the new series will have a soap opera feel to it, then the producers have added the perfect person to their cast. According to Green Arrow TV, Jacqueline Macinnes Wood has just signed on to play Sarah Lance in the new CW pilot ‘Arrow.’

Wood is best known for her role as Steffy Forrester in the CBS soap ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ and appeared in last year’s horror flick ‘Final Destination 5.’ She can be seen next in another horror film set to be released in June called ‘Piranha 3DD.’

Since Wood won’t be leaving the CBS soap, it’s presumed that she will have a guest starring role in the pilot. Wood confirmed her role to play Sarah Lance via a tweet:

According to the breakdown of the casting before the roles were set, Sarah is the sister of Dinah “Laurel” Lance who died while aboard Oliver Queen’s yacht in the same incident that caused Oliver to be shipwrecked on an island for 5 years. It’s thought that Wood will probably have a small role mostly involving flash backs of sequences that took place before her death.

Wood will be joining Stephen Amell as as Oliver Queen, Katie Cassidy as Dinah “Laurel” Lance, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Susanna Thompson as Moira Queen, Brian Markinson as Adam Hunt, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, Colin Donnell as Tommy Merlyn and Colin Salmon as Walter Steele. The pilot was written by Andrew Kreisberg, Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim who will also executive produce and will be directed by David Nutter.

If the network likes what they see, ‘Arrow’ will begin airing this fall on the CW network.
