Even the most unlikely rumors regarding Zack Snyder’s ‘Batman Vs. Superman’ keep swirling.  People are buzzing about the possibility of Wonder Woman appearing in the movie.  There are even casting rumors regarding Nightwing and even The Flash is supposedly getting an appearance.  Well, those rumors are still in place, but the latest word is that Wonder Woman and The Flash will only appear out-of-costume in the civilian identities.  Furthermore, it’s rumored that this Flash will be the same one as the one from the TV show ‘Arrow’!  Allegedly, the producers are waiting to see whether audiences embrace Grant Gustin in the role as Barry Allen.  If they do, then Gustin gets the part in the movie.  If not, they’ll find a second actor to embody the part.

Zack Snyder himself spilled a clue during his live Yahoo! Q&A, “Lex loves calling [Superman] an alien.”  Does that seal the deal that Luthor will appear in the movie.  Supposedly!  According to reports, Snyder is approaching the character in much the same way that Grant Morrison did in ‘All-Star Superman’.  He considers Superman’s presence as demeaning to ordinary humans and that he diminishes human accomplishments.  A source reports that Luthor is “the pride of Metropolis. The people love him, he’s been helping out a lot. Even Lois thinks he’s a good guy initially. He is a very smart man and has a lot of charisma.”  I assume that helping out is cleaning up after Superman and Zod trashed the city, which would presumably fuel Luthor’s anti-alien hatred.

Further, this source states that Luthor has his scientists create a suit of battle armor.

“When the world realizes what he truly is, they will need someone to stand up to him.” When one of scientists ask if he is that someone, Lex replies, “Is there any other person who can?”  It sounds like we may be getting a version of his classic George Perez-designed armor, perhaps most famous for being the version of the character in the Super Powers action figure line.

As far as casting, it was previously reported that Terry Quinn from ‘Lost’ was in the running, but this source says that was never the case.  James Purefoy was in the running, but wanted nothing to do with the role.

And the final rumor, Bruce Wayne will have a love interest in the movie, but Warner Brothers wants to cast an African American actress in the role.  (Shades of Eartha Kitt?)

As I always say with these “reports”, we’re very early in and it doesn’t sound like the script is even finished yet.  So take EVERYTHING with a grain of salt.  Heck, I’d honestly say don’t believe anything until we see it.  But it’s fun to speculate and some fans want every morsel of gossip as it surfaces, so there you go!  More rumors as they surface!
