Billy Burke has joined the cast of the NBC drama pilot ‘Revolution!’
Fans of the ‘Twilight’ movies will recognize Burke as Bella’s father, Charlie Swan, but he has also performed in the movies ‘Red Riding Hood’, ‘Drive Angry’, and ‘Ladder 49’ along with several TV appearances in shows such as ‘Fringe,’ ‘VR.5’ and ‘Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.’
Not much was revealed about his role except that he will play a charismatic Marine. He will join Giancarlo Esposito (who plays Danny Matheson, a cunning hunter), Tracy Spiridakos (who plays a warrior named Charlie) and Anna Lise Phillips (who will play a doctor).
‘Revolution’ has been described as a “high octane action drama which follows a group of people struggling to survive and reunite with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist.” The pilot will be directed by Jon Favreau (‘Iron Man’, ‘Cowboys and Aliens’). This will mark Favreau’s first venture in the director’s seat for drama television. Eric Kripke (‘Supernatural’) will executive produce the pilot as well as wrote the teleplay. J.J. Abrams (‘Star Trek 2’, ‘Super 8’ ‘Cloverfield’) will co-executive produce alongside Kripke.
So far, I’m liking the direction of casting and am eager to see the final product. What about you?
