A new trailer has dropped from out of nowhere for Keanu Reeves’ upcoming sci-fi thriller, ‘Replicas.’ Reeves has been a part of the project since its announcement in 2014, and portrays Will Foster, whose wife and children were killed in a car accident. Will is the leading neuroscientist working on transferring the human consciousness into a robotic host. You can probably guess where this is going! With the help of his colleague, Ed (Thomas Middleditch), Will creates replicas of his family. But, as is usually the case with things like this, not everything goes according to plan.
Following the announcement of ‘Replicas,’ the project gained excitement and anticipation from fans. However, over the past four years, the film has been pushed to the back of people’s minds, especially as movies like ‘Ex Machina’ and ‘Blade Runner 2049’ have dealt with similar topics, and seemingly filled that void for fans. The release of the new trailer should help reignite the fire!
In addition to Reeves and Middleditch, ‘Replicas’ stars Alice Eve (Marvel’s ‘Iron Fist,’ ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’), and John Ortiz (‘Silver Linings Playbook’), and was directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff.
After a car accident kills his family, a daring synthetic biologist (Reeves) will stop at nothing to bring them back, even if it means pitting himself against a government-controlled laboratory, a police task force, and the physical laws of science.
‘Replicas’ opens in theaters on January 11th 2019. Check out the trailer below!
