venom

Marvel Studios is known for inserting scenes after-the-credits in their films and Sony Pictures has decided to follow in their footsteps by including 2 in ‘Venom‘. Only, you’ll be having to stick around for a while as these two are slated to come at the very end of the credits. If this wasn’t just for the early screenings, it could very well be an excellent opportunity to hit the washroom or grab a popcorn refill.

At this time we don’t even have a hint as to if the film will catch your attention and keep you in your seat to want to see these scenes as early reviews are under embargo until Wednesday night after the first set of releases kicks off. This kind of a delay can send a mixed message to fans that studios are worried about moviegoers not wanting to see it if the reviews are bad. Of course, it could also just be to keep the movie as spoiler free as possible.

We’ve even got a bit of detail on both of them so if you don’t mind spoilers, you can follow through below!

So the first of the two after-credits scenes is one that has been long rumored to exist. It includes Tom Hardy‘s Eddie Brock still being a journalist after the events of ‘Venom’. We see him heading over to San Quentin prison to interview the serial killer Cletus Kasady who, as we’ve all suspected is true, is played by Woody Harrelson. In it, he has a ginger wig and asks Brock if he’d like to hear about the “carnage” of his career as a serial killer.

There doesn’t appear to be a direct inclusion of how he gets a symbiote from early commentary.

In the second scene, there aren’t specific details showing up, but it does start with “Meanwhile, In Another Spider-Verse…” which means we’ll be seeing either a new trailer or clip from ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.’ Anyone who was hoping for setup to another Sony-Marvel film such as ‘Silver & Black‘ or ‘Morbius‘ is probably going to be saddened by this but if this is a new scene for the upcoming animated film, that is reason enough to be excited as it looks amazing.

Are you happy about the after-the-credits scene which ‘Venom’ is including? With the details having already been leaked are either of these a surprise? Share your thoughts in the comments below, True Believers!
