Wilson Bethel

After a lot of online speculation about the truth, and some evidence seemingly confirming the fact that actor Wilson Bethel was cast in ‘Daredevil’ Season 3 as Matt Murdock’s arch-nemesis Bullseye, it seems the cat is now out of the bag thanks to personal trainer Naqam Washington.

The Arazi Fitness employee posted an image on Instagram recently with himself standing between Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock) and Bethel, with a number of hashtags that include #Daredevil and #Bullseye, which basically confirms for the internet who Bethel is going to be in Season 3. The image has since been taken down but you can see his hashtags for yourself below:

The original casting notice for the character described him as an:

“… athletic but socially awkward FBI agent” who “needs structure and rules to suppress
the darkness inside himself” and who carries a “hair trigger temper.”

When Bethel was first cast last November, the role was described as “pivotal” to the season and also as a series regular. Fans instantly got suspicious that he might be Bullseye as they have been waiting for the villain’s appearance ever since Season 1, though Marvel seems to have been holding back since the last time we saw Bullseye on screen was during the disastrous ‘Daredevil’ movie with Ben Affleck where Colin Farrell played him.

In the comics he has gone by many names but has always been one of Daredevil’s chief antagonists, having killed both Elektra and Karen Page at one time or another, while being an ally of Wilson Fisk aka the Kingpin, which would fit nicely with the world the Netflix show has built. And if Season 3 (even loosely) follows the ‘Born Again’ storyline from the comics (as Charlie Cox told the Hollywood Reporter it did), then the Kingpin will most likely find out Daredevil’s true identity and set about to ruin his life, making allies like Bullseye essential to getting to Murdock.

We’ll find out more when ‘Daredevil’ Season 3 premieres later this year, make sure to check back here for more news and updates, and for the series reviews when the episodes are finally released!
