If you were watching ‘Legion’ last night on FX, then you were lucky to have seen the new featurette for Ridley Scott’s upcoming ‘Alien: Covenant.’ If not (and you really should have as ‘Legion’ is a really great show), we can show you what you missed!

Directed by Scott’s son Luke Scott, the video titled “The Last Supper” is actually a 5-minute short film that contains footage not in the actual movie but is a prologue of what to expect when the film is released in May. It gives a great intro to the crew of the Covenant and their camaraderie as they gather together before heading off to cryosleep.

From previous reports, Michael Fassbender is said to play 2 different androids and here, we are introduced to Walter, a familiar looking AI who is related to the earlier-made, less advanced prototype David that we saw in ‘Prometheus,’ as he examines Katherine Waterston’s lead character Daniels, a terraforming expert. But what is really interesting is the condition of her husband, Branson (played by James Franco) who seems a bit under the weather (foreshadowing of what’s to come, perhaps?).

If you are a fan of ‘Alien,’ then you’ll appreciate this little look into the Covenant crew’s life as the dinner will seem oddly familiar and is a nice nod to the franchise.

Unlike a lot of promotion material released for upcoming films, “The Last Supper” is not spoilery so you can watch it without any worry of ruining any plot points in the film. And if you are hankering for more, you can relive the awesome red band trailer for the film that was released in December.

So let us know what do you think. Are you looking forward to the film? Sound off in the comments below.

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

Directed by Ridley Scott, ‘Alien: Covenant’ stars Michael Fassbender,  Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, Benjamin Rigby, and James Franco and bursts into theaters on May 19.
