Voicing Their Surprise: Could This Be The Cast Of Batman: Hush?

Despite the fact that IMDB currently lists both Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as the Joker in the cast for a DC Animated Movie version of ‘Batman: Hush’ at the moment, that may not exactly be the case. Apparently, we have to keep in mind that IMDB can be altered by the public, especially if they have compelling evidence to support their claim, in this case, public statements by Conroy and Hamill saying they would like to be involved in a ‘Batman: Hush’ project should it ever be made. And while the movie is in production at the moment, no official cast has been announced just yet, so the IMDB information is just speculation, even if it seems very likely. Yet according to the site ‘Revenge of the Fans,’ who has a good track record for their voice-cast information for DC Animated films, this is the actual the voice cast for ‘Batman: Hush,’ though they admit they do not know who is playing what character just yet:

  • Jason O’Mara
  • Jerry O’Connell
  • Tara Strong
  • Rainn Wilson
  • Bruce Thomas
  • Vanessa Williams

So going through the list, Jason O’Mara has played Batman a few times before, most notably in ‘Justice League Dark‘ and ‘The Death of Superman‘ DC animated movies, so he is most likely playing the Dark Knight once more here. Same goes for Jerry O’Connell, who almost always plays Superman in DC Animated movies, as heard in ‘The Death of Superman’ and ‘Justice League vs Teen Titans.’  I’m guessing Tara Strong will play Harley Quinn again, as she has nailed that role in the past, but it is the last three that are the real question marks. Rainn Wilson has played Lex Luthor in the past so he might be slotted in there, but really he could be any character. Vanessa Williams has played Amanda Waller, but again, she could end up playing any character at this point as well. And Bruce Thomas is known in the DC Animated world for playing a range of characters, from Jim Gordan to Desaad, Atrocitus, General Zod, Darkseid, and Kobra. He may even be Hush himself, but anything is possible with him.

Of course, there is not really a strong contender for someone playing the Joker here, so Hamill might still be involved even if Conroy is not, though I’m not sure that would go over very well with Conroy if he really wanted to be a part of ‘Hush.’ And yet, Revenge of the Fans could still be incorrect, and we could still get Conroy as Batman, which would be my preference, though I am biased as I grew up with ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ and Conroy will always be the voice of Batman for me.

Do you like Conroy for Batman? Or do you think O’Mara does the voice better? Or do you think they are both just fine in the role? Feel free to share your thoughts on the better Batman, and your hopes for ‘Batman: Hush,’ in the comments below!
