Paradox

Draco Malfoy himself, Tom Felton is coming to ‘The Flash’ Season Three as a new rival for the show’s star Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin).  Felton will play CSI tech Julian Dorn and will first show up in the show’s third new episode.

Executive producer Todd Helbing discussed Felton’s new role, saying:

“He’s a direct result of Flashpoint.  Barry’s had that lab to himself, but now he’s got to share it with this guy, who doesn’t really like him and is kind of prickly.”

Paradox

At the end of Season Four, Barry used his powers to travel back in time and prevent his mother’s death, which we know will have a major impact on the show’s reality when Barry gets back.

Fans may be concerned that Felton’s arrival may signal the end of Cisco’s ‘Harry Potter’ references which pepper his dialogue as well as other references to various pop culture milestones.  Rest assured, the producers and writers have no plans to drop any possible ‘Potter’ quips.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg assures:

“Tom Felton is portraying a character on our show — he’s not portraying Tom Felton.  Cisco will continue to make pop culture references. We’re, generally speaking, not afraid to have a little bit of a meta-moment.”

Paradox

Felton himself seems psyched for any potential jabs:

“I’m so excited for the references.  I don’t doubt the talent and creativity of the writers. I’ve got a feeling they’ll come up with some real good ones. I hadn’t thought about me saying it — I assumed it would come at me from Cisco — but maybe I should give it to Cisco. Maybe he should misquote something and I could correct him.”

Cisco Ramon, played by Carlos Valdes, serves as not just Barry’s right hand man, but as the show’s comic relief, coining the names of most of the show’s villains.  Of course, Cisco’s fate will be heavily altered by the ‘Flashpoint’ events.

‘The Flash’ returns to The CW next Tuesday, at 8pm Eastern.  Felton debuts as Julian Dorn three weeks after that.
