Earlier today rumors were emerging that Ryan Reynolds’ ‘Deadpool’ movie lost its battle for an R rating and was given a PG-13. However, it seems the joke’s on us on this April Fool’s Day as Reynolds has come out and revealed we’ve all been punked!

With tweets by Reynolds seemingly to assure fans that a PG-13 is not the end of the world, the joke was finally unveiled on a segment with Mario Lopez on Extra. What make the reveal so epic was the fact that the announcement was made by Reynolds in his full Deadpool suit!

See the full segment below:

The interview looked as though Lopez was on a satellite interview with Reynolds but was in fact on set in Vancouver for an exclusive one-on-one. The delivery of the line “It’s okay Jesse, Slater can’t hurt you anymore” (a nod to Lopez’s days as Slater on ‘Saved by the Bell’) and the breaking of the fourth wall seems to indicate that fans don’t have to worry as the movie looks to be in good hands.

As more and more information comes out from the ‘Deadpool’ camp, it seems as Reynolds is keeping to his word that this film won’t disappoint fans. So far, the reveal of the suit to even the synopsis have not lessen the excitement of this film and now we know the film will be rated R.

So we can all begin celebrating!
