Despite rumors that he might not be in the director’s chair when it goes into production, Bryan Singer is definitely still involved in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ in some way. He’s even started teasing the film on social media two years before it’s set to debut in theaters.

Earlier today, the director of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ posted a picture on Instagram hinting at what we could expect from the next installment of Fox’s Marvel mutant movie franchise. While not revealing any plot details at all, the page from the 2016 film’s treatment shows us that Singer, Simon Kinberg, and ‘X2: X-Men United’ writers Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris are credited as writers on the project. Also, we see that the Four Horsemen, the henchmen of Apocalypse, will be involved in the story in some way. You can check out the post yourself below:

After examining the picture more closely, one could assume that Act I Scene I starts in Egypt considering that the Nile is mentioned. But the bigger question that arises from this glimpse is who the Horsemen will consist of in the cinematic version of the story. In the comics, popular characters such as Wolverine, Gambit, Mister Sinister, Polaris, Hulk, Banshee, and Archangel all fell under the control of Apocalypse at one time or another. Obviously, Hulk is out since he’s over at Marvel Studios, but it’s possible that we could see any number of characters from the X-Men universe take up the positions of the Horsemen.

After seeing this sneak peek at the treatment for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse,’ are you more excited to see the next chapter in Fox’s mutant film series? Who do you think will make up the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse when they make their way to the big screen in 2016? Share your thoughts and theories in the comments below.
